Last year's snow trip saw an intrepid bunch head up the mountain to fight bitter winds and very little snow. This year the day was a cracker and snow was abundant.
So much snow in fact that it was on the sides of the main road most of the way from the National Park turnoff. The Griffins, Dave and Conrad, and Kevin made there way to a veritable winter wonderland.
The road to the ski field had been freshly bulldozed and cleared and all the car parks had vehicles in them.
Conrad playing baseball with an ice bat.
All the kids (big and little) had to play. Pity we forgot to get photos of the tractor tube at speed.
Lookign back towards Taupo.
The skifield was buzzing so we headed back down the hill to play and stay out of their way.
On the way out we explored a few of the side roads, even finding patches of snow in the bush.
Great day, great company and marvellous weather and all safe home.
